US President Donald Trump, in a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House, announced the US takeover of the Gaza Strip.
President Trump stated, “We see a long-term position of ownership in Gaza, where we will develop the area, provide jobs for people, and settle citizens.” He further mentioned that the leaders of Jordan and Egypt would provide land for Palestinians as part of this plan, and after ddiscussing itwith other Middle Eastern leaders, the idea of relocating Palestinians from Gaza was wwell received.
Trump also presented a plan for international settlement in Gaza, stating that he would visit Israel, Gaza, and Saudi Arabia. He added that Saudi Arabia would be very helpful in this project, and he hopes that the ceasefire will remain in place. Additionally, Trump mentioned that many countries would soon join the Abraham Accords.
During the press conference, President Trump also addressed the elimination of Hamas, stating that the reconstruction and control of Gaza should not be done by those responsible for the past issues in the region.
Trump also commented on Iran, saying that if Iran ppossessednuclear weapons, it would be to their misfortune.
Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu supported President Trump’s plan, stating, “Trump’s plan could change history, and Gaza’s future will be different, which is significant.” Netanyahu added that Trump’s plan could create new opportunities in the Middle East.
