Meta-owned WhatsApp has accused Israeli spyware company Paragon Solutions of targeting dozens of its users, including journalists and civil society members, across 24 countries.
A WhatsApp official revealed on Friday that around 90 users were targeted through a sophisticated hacking attempt. The attack involved a “zero-click” exploit, which means users were infected without taking any action.
In response, WhatsApp has sent a cease-and-desist letter to Paragon Solutions and vowed to continue protecting users’ privacy. The company remains committed to securing private communications against such threats.
