Security boosted for Tri-Nation Cricket Series, Army and Rangers deployed

The Ministry of Interior has approved the deployment of the Pakistan Army and Rangers for the upcoming tri-nation cricket series between Pakistan, New Zealand, and South Africa. The series, set to take place from February 5 to February 10, will see stringent security measures to ensure the safety of players and spectators.

A spokesperson from the Punjab Home Department stated that the security arrangements include the deployment of one company each from the Pakistan Army and Rangers Punjab during the cricket matches. The games scheduled for February 8 and 10 will be held at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.

The Punjab Home Department had earlier requested the federal government for additional security forces, leading to the approval for the Army and Rangers deployment. This move is aimed at maintaining a peaceful and secure environment for the players and fans attending the much-anticipated matches.
