Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif departed for an official visit to Azerbaijan on Sunday at the invitation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
This marks the prime minister’s second visit to Azerbaijan since taking office in March 2024. He is accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, along with federal ministers Jam Kamal Khan, Abdul Aleem Khan, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi.
During the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will engage in bilateral meetings with President Ilham Aliyev and participate in a business forum. Key discussions will focus on areas of mutual interest, including energy, trade, defence, education, and climate cooperation. Several memorandums of understanding (MoUs) and agreements are expected to be signed to enhance collaboration between the two nations.
