Lahore: President Asif Ali Zardari has stated that Pakistan’s economic indicators are showing improvement and that public hardships are gradually decreasing due to ongoing reforms.
Speaking at a dinner hosted in his honour by former Punjab Governor Makhdoom Ahmed Mehmood, President Zardari was joined by Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan, prominent businessman Gohar Ejaz, and Nawab Shehzad, among other notable figures.
During the gathering, President Zardari discussed the country’s economic situation and stressed the importance of further administrative improvements to sustain progress.
Referring to his recent visit to China, he described it as highly successful, emphasising the strong Pakistan-China cooperation under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He reaffirmed that both nations are working together for regional development, with Chinese companies planning to establish manufacturing units in Pakistan to boost industrial growth.
President Zardari also commended the Sindh government for its contributions to health and education, mentioning the establishment of new universities, colleges, and hospitals. He highlighted efforts to support flood victims by constructing homes and encouraged other provinces to adopt similar initiatives.
