BAKU – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived at the Zagulba Presidential Palace in Azerbaijan on Monday for a high-level meeting with President Ilham Aliyev to discuss bilateral relations and areas of mutual cooperation.
Upon arrival, President Aliyev personally received the Pakistani premier at the main entrance, where the two leaders exchanged a warm handshake. A guard of honour was presented to PM Shehbaz, accompanied by the playing of the national anthems of both countries.
Following the formal welcome, the two leaders engaged in a bilateral meeting to explore opportunities for collaboration across various sectors. The discussions were set to continue in delegation-level talks, where officials from both sides would participate in shaping future agreements.
During the visit, Pakistan and Azerbaijan are expected to sign several memorandums of understanding (MoUs) and agreements aimed at enhancing trade, investment, and diplomatic cooperation.
PM Shehbaz is on a two-day official visit to Azerbaijan at the invitation of President Aliyev. This marks his second visit to the country since assuming office in March 2024, reinforcing Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening ties with Azerbaijan.
