Pakistanis may get an extended holiday for Eid ul Fitr 2025, with many hoping for a 9-day break from March 29 to April 6.
According to the Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council, Eid ul Fitr 2025 is expected to fall on March 31, as the Shawwal moon is likely to be visible on March 30. The moon will be over 26 hours old, meeting the visibility criteria.
If Eid begins on Monday, March 31, the official three-day holiday (Monday to Wednesday) would align with the weekend. Speculation is rising that the government may declare a five-day break from March 29 to April 2.
If Thursday and Friday are also given as holidays, Pakistanis could enjoy a 9-day break—ideal for celebrations, travel, or relaxation after Ramadan.
