In an effort to strengthen bilateral ties in a number of areas during Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s visit to Pakistan, Pakistan and Turkey signed a number of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), protocols, and cooperation agreements on Thursday.
The deals were exchanged between President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
In order to strengthen the strategic alliance between Pakistan and Turkey, PM Shehbaz Sharif and President Erdogan also signed the joint statement of the 7th meeting of the High Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC).
The signed declaration on the Memorandum of Understanding between the Export Credit Bank of Turkiye and the Export Import Bank of Pakistan was exchanged by Turkish Minister of Trade Omer Bolat and Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb.

Documents from the joint ministerial statement on cooperation in the verification of origin certificates used in trade, as well as an agreement on digitising the verification of origin certificates used in trade, were shared between Turkish Minister of Trade Omer Bolat and Turkish Minister of Commerce Jam Kamal Khan.
Likewise, Turkish Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacir and Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the area of industrial property.
In the defence sector, Turkish Defence Minister Yasar Guler and Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the interchange of military and civilian people for social and cultural reasons.
Additionally, Khawaja Asif and Yasar Guler, the Turkish Minister of Defence, inked an agreement between the Secretariat of Defence Industries and the Pakistani Ministry of Defence Production, as well as an agreement on collaboration in Air Force Electronic Warfare.
Similarly, Khawaja Asif and Turkish Defence Minister Yasar Guler exchanged a protocol on military health training and collaboration.

DG NRDI Pakistan Navy, R/Admiral Javed Iqbal HI (M), and Director Turkish Aerospace Industries Dr. Mehmet Demiroglu exchanged another Memorandum of Understanding between Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) and the Naval Research and Development Institute (NRDI) of Pakistan.
In the realm of science and technology, Turkish Minister of Commerce Omer Bolat and Minister of Science and Technology Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui signed a Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation in halal commerce. Additionally, signed copies of an MOU on the establishment of legal metrology infrastructure were exchanged between Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and Mehmet Fatih Kacir, the Turkish Minister of Industries and Technology.
The two parties also signed a cooperation agreement on the Seed Protocol to alter the agreement in the National Food Security and Research sector. Turkish Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Ibrahim Yumakli and Minister of National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain exchanged the paperwork.
In the energy sector, the two parties also signed a protocol to revise the hydrocarbons cooperation agreement. Alparslan Bayraktar, the Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, and Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari, the Minister of Energy, exchanged the paperwork.
Additionally, the two ministers shared copies of two memorandums of understanding on mining and energy transition cooperation.

A cooperation agreement in the water sector was also inked by the two parties. Ibrahim Yumakli, the Turkish Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, and Rana Tanveer Hussain, the Minister for National Food Security and Research, exchanged the paperwork.
Fahrettin Altun, the director of communications, and Attaullah Tarar, the minister of information and broadcasting, signed memorandums of understanding on collaboration in the fields of communications and public relations.
In the meantime, an agreement on cooperation in the areas of religious education and services was signed by the two parties. Chaudhry Salik Hussain, Minister of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, and Professor Dr. Ali Ebras exchanged the signed paperwork.
Hakan Fidan and Rana Tanveer Hussain exchanged memorandums of understanding about technological cooperation in the pharmaceutical and health sectors.
Similarly, the signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and the Central Bank of Turkiye (CBRT) in the area of technical cooperation was exchanged by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb.
Two agreements on co-production in audiovisual services and cultural collaboration were exchanged between Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Attaullah Tarar.
Two memorandums of understanding have also been inked during the Pakistan-Turkey Business Forum in addition to the document exchange.
