Lahore High Court dismisses PTI’s plea for Minar-e-Pakistan rally –

LAHORE – The Lahore High Court (LHC) has dismissed a petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) seeking permission to hold a public rally at Minar-e-Pakistan on March 22.

Justice Farooq Haider presided over the hearing of the petition, which was submitted by PTI leader Akmal Bari. The plea requested the court to direct the authorities to grant permission for the rally, arguing that PTI had followed legal procedures by submitting a request to the administration. However, the party claimed that it had not received any official response.

During the proceedings, the LHC Registrar’s Office raised an objection, stating that the petition should have first been presented before the relevant redressal committee. The court upheld this objection and dismissed the petition, advising the petitioner to follow the proper legal channels.

The court further noted that if the committee fails to make a decision, the petitioner would have the option to approach the court again.
