The Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) conference is being chaired by Justice Yahya Afridi, the country’s chief justice.
The gathering is considering candidates for the positions of nine more Peshawar High Court (PHC) justices.
Sources claim that up to 40 people are being considered for the PHC’s nine open judge positions.
It should be mentioned that the justices of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) expressed their worries over attempts to select the IHC CJ from other high courts in a letter to the president and prime minister on Friday.
Additionally, the letter recommended that the IHC CJ be appointed from among the three senior-most IHC justices
