The Islamabad High Court has ruled that displaying “Advocate” on vehicle number plates is ill_egal. Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri emphasized that lawyers, like all citizens, must follow the law and cannot claim special privileges.
He urged the legal community to remove such markings and avoid misusing their profession for personal benefits. The court reaffirmed that laws apply equally to everyone, ensuring fairness and accountability.
Strict action may be taken against those who violate the ruling, and lawyers have been advised to use only government-issued number plates. The decision reinforces the principle that traffic laws must be followed without exception.
