Rawalpindi – A tense confrontation took place at the entrance of Adiala Jail between PTI lawyers and Aleema Khan, sister of the party’s founder, following her visit with him.
Aleema Khan, accompanied by her two sisters, engaged in a heated argument with PTI lawyers outside the jail, expressing her frustration over legal matters. She criticized the lawyers, stating that no unauthorized lawyer should enter the jail without a designated responsibility.
“No one will meet the PTI founder unless they have an assigned role. Why is everyone just coming to jail for meetings?” She questioned the lawyers.
Aleema Khan emphasized that only Salman Akram and Salman Safdar had the authority to file petitions on behalf of her brother and warned against any unauthorized legal actions.
During the confrontation, she specifically questioned PTI lawyer Naeem Panjutha about his meetings, stating, “You are Bushra Bibi’s focal person; who have you been meeting?” Panjutha denied meeting anyone without authorization, but Aleema Khan reacted angrily, telling him not to misbehave with her.
Panjutha defended himself, saying, “I am not being disrespectful. We have endured imprisonment and legal cases.” However, Aleema Khan sternly told him to remain silent, after which other lawyers intervened and moved Panjutha aside.
Aleema Khan also pressed the lawyers about their legal efforts, asking, “What relief have you secured for the PTI founder so far? He is not allowed phone calls with his children or access to books.”
