A cyberattack disrupted the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) on Monday when hackers hijacked a cafeteria television to display an AI-generated video of Donald Trump kissing Elon Musk’s feet. The video is accompanied by the phrase “LONG LIVE THE REAL KING.”
The same video first surfaced on social media platform X a week prior, sparking discussions on cybersecurity risks and the growing influence of AI-generated content in political discourse.
HUD officials strongly condemned the breach and have launched an investigation into the incident. However, the identity of the hackers remains unknown.
Cybersecurity experts believe the attack could be a political statement, given the video’s nature, but no group has taken responsibility.
