The Pakistan cricket team has suffered a significant blow ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, as explosive opener Fakhar Zaman has been ruled out of the tournament due to injury.
According to sources, Fakhar Zaman’s injury is serious, preventing him from travelling with the national squad to Dubai. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has contacted the ICC Technical Committee to approve a replacement player for the squad.
Fakhar Zaman has been directed to report to the Lahore High-Performance Centre, where he will undergo a complete assessment and rehabilitation process.
Fakhar Zaman has been a key player for Pakistan, especially in the ODI format, where he has delivered impressive performances. His absence could put additional pressure on the team’s batting lineup.
