The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Islamabad has extended the interim bail of former first lady Bushra Bibi in two cases related to the November 26 protests.
The hearing was presided over by ATC Judge Abul Hasnat Muhammad Zulqarnain. Bushra Bibi’s legal team, represented by advocates Anser Kiyani and Shamsa Kiyani, appeared before the court and submitted a request for her exemption from personal appearance. They also sought permission for her to be included in the investigation from jail, urging the court to direct the investigation officer to interrogate her in prison.
The judge assured that the court’s order would include instructions for her interrogation. Following the proceedings, her interim bail was extended until April 28 in the Secretariat Police Station case and April 29 in the Karachi Company Police Station case.
The cases against Bushra Bibi stem from protests that took place on November 26, and legal proceedings continue as authorities conduct further investigations.
