Mujaddid Sabri, son of the late Qawwali legend Amjad Sabri, has strongly criticized mainstream media for its insensitive behaviour following his father’s tragic death.
Speaking on the show, Mujaddid shared how media channels exploited their grief, bombarding them with intrusive questions and surrounding their home.
“Yes, we faced extreme media exploitation. Channels would invite us for interviews, but their questions were shallow and insensitive. Even after returning home, media vans would be parked outside, leaving us no private space. I once confronted a well-known anchor, but he later edited out that part from the interview,” he revealed.
He further shared that reporters even asked if he still remembered his father. In response, he said, ‘Is your father alive? I will ask you the same question when he is no more.’
Due to the overwhelming pressure and lack of privacy, Mujaddid and his family moved to Lahore to escape the media limelight.
