Ramzan is meant to be a time of prayer, kindness, and ease, but in Pakistan, it often brings unfair price hikes. Actor Nauman Ijaz took to Instagram to highlight the rising costs of everyday essentials, criticizing shopkeepers for profiting off those who are fasting.
Sharing an example, he wrote:
“Three days ago, bananas were Rs. 80 per dozen. Last night, they were Rs. 200 per dozen.”
He ended his post with a sarcastic “Ramzan Mubarak!” to express frustration over this ongoing issue.
Every year, prices of essential goods surge as Ramzan begins, making it harder for many to afford basic necessities. Shouldn’t this month be about helping others rather than exploiting them?
