Pakistan has granted 154 visas to Indian pilgrims for their visit to the historic Shree Katas Raj Temples in Chakwal district. The pilgrimage is scheduled from February 24 to March 2, 2025.
The visas were issued by the High Commission for Pakistan in New Delhi. Charge d’Affaires Saad Ahmad Warraich extended best wishes to the pilgrims, emphasizing Pakistan’s dedication to religious tourism and interfaith harmony.
This initiative is part of the 1974 Pakistan-India Protocol on Visits to Religious Shrines, which allows thousands of Indian pilgrims to visit Pakistan every year. However, in a contrasting move, India recently denied visas to 400 Pakistani pilgrims who intended to visit Ajmer Sharif for Urs.
