Gilgit Baltistan Chief Minister Haji Gulbar Khan asked on Sunday that the area be granted its fair portion of the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award.
During a news conference, he stated that the area ought to get a portion of the NFC Award.
Along with Azad Kashmir, the CM also requested financial arrangements with the region. “If the region is given an equal share in the NFC plan, Gilgit Baltistan won’t need subsidies,” he stated.
Khan said that if funding were provided to the area under the NFC formula, it would amount to almost Rs 250 billion.
Before the 80 percent tax objective is reached, he added, legislation for land changes in the area would also be enacted.
