The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) cabinet has approved the transformation of the government’s MI-17 helicopter into an air ambulance to provide emergency medical assistance.
Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur’s official helicopter will be modified at an estimated cost of Rs 300 million to serve this critical public service.
According to KP government spokesperson Barrister Saif, the finance department will allocate the required funds to the provincial aviation unit for this project.
The helicopter will transport medicines and evacuate stranded individuals in remote areas like Kurram.
